What to expect in Second Grade
Second Grade is a time when students become
confident readers, able to read long chapter books, and able to sustain
reading for a longer period of time. Children begin writing lengthy stories
with involved plots, descriptive language, and some dialogue. Children
learn strategies to aid problem solving, math facts, and explore many math
concepts using hands-on material. Second Grade is a time for rapid physical
and academic growth. The child becomes confident and proficient - a truly
wonderful process to observe and nurture.
