A part-time Computer Resource teacher serves all grade
levels. The Computer Specialist teaches lessons in all subject areas to
students based upon the curriculum in the computer lab or using one or more
computers in a classroom. The Computer Resource teacher:
- is
available to assist teachers and students in their classrooms,
- reviews
software and techniques which correlate to the integrated thematic units,
and
- advises
school personnel in all areas of computer hardware and software.
Through computer education, students are challenged in
their application of both basic and higher level skills. Skill practice is provided and critical
thinking skills are also developed. Students learn to be creative when they use
the computer as a drawing and painting tool.
Students often write and publish their own ideas. Research and
communication skills are emphasized.
Computer education provides the technological background for middle
school and future experiences.
