Grades 2-4 Program
Beginning in grade two, students are screened for exceptional abilities and talent pools are developed. This includes 10-15% of the student population town wide. These students participate in interest-based groupings, called enrichment clusters, which occur at six-week intervals throughout the year. Mrs. Kozak teaches the enrichment clusters during specifically designated time blocks outside of the regular classroom one day per week in each school.

Grades K-1 Program
The kindergarten and first grade
level are viewed as the formative period in which ability can be developed and
nurtured. At this level students are
exposed to a variety of experiences with opportunity for expansion and
enrichment of the curriculum in the classroom.
To accomplish this, Mrs. Rosen provides consultant services and
materials to parents and teachers in all four elementary schools for use with
gifted and/or higher ability students. She is available one day every two weeks
at John Paterson.
