John Wallace Student Store - The Student Store at John Wallace has approximately 12 student workers who are in charge of opening, running and closing the school store daily. Their job requires them to be to at school before the school day starts to open up and prepare the store for business. Workers are responsible for selling all merchandise and completing all sales transactions respectfully, politely, and responsibly. Throughout the school year, the workers assist in choosing "new" items to be purchased and sold at the store. Many student workers start during an early grade and work throughout their time at Wallace. These student workers are the reason why the John Wallace Student Store is so successful!

The students, ranging in grade from fifth to eighth, develop the article ideas and are responsible for researching, interviewing and publishing their articles. Through polls, editorials and even comic strips, student writers have used the Wallace World to debate different issues that are on the minds of the students at John Wallace. In addition to student chosen work, teachers are able to submit poetry, stories, essays etc… that they find impressive and worth sharing with the school.

The Student Senate is an organization which provides students opportunities to display leadership, to help other students become more involved in school activities, to improve our school, to improve communication between students and faculty, to discuss issues, to plan activities and events, to encourage new ideas, to organize fund-raisers for charity, and to represent the student body.  The student senate breaks itself up into committees to organize each event for the school year. The activities that take place annually are Boxtops for Education, Tabs for Tots, Hoops for Heart, Students against Drugs/Violence, Breast Cancer Walk-a-thon, Food Drives, 4th grade orientation tours, Spirit Days and the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast.  At the end of the year the students plan on-going activities and programs and sponsor the 8th grade dance/celebration.  For more information students can contact Mrs. Abacherli, student senate advisor.
