Library/Media Center Information

The library/media center serves a population of 750+ students, grades 5-8, and 50+ staff members. John Wallace Middle School is a circular building, with the library/media center   at its center. There is a classroom area, a quiet reading area, and tables for research and schoolwork. We have 18 computers available to staff and students for Internet research, word processing and multimedia production. The card catalog is in the process of being automated.

Books and magazines (except for the current issue) circulate for two weeks. Each student may check out two books (or one book and one magazine) at a time. Most reference books are available for overnight circulation.

The library is open to teachers to bring their classes from 8:10 – 2:05. The library is also open during activity period (2:05 – 2:40) for students with a pass from their teacher.

The library/media specialist is Mrs. Francischelli.  Student media helpers assist her during activity periods.
